| Mariann Pájer: Re: Pajer Name Origin | Hello!
I'just now lokk this page, and I hope, you read my letter.
My nane is Marianna Pájer. My grandfather was Konrád Pájer (He was born in Vencsellő, 1910) His parents: Borbála Vinnai, and Keresztély Pájer. He had 3 sisters'I think.
His ount were Borbála and Anna (nickname's were "Pávi" and "Náni"), they went to America. My great-grandfather went America too, and he died in the coal mine in 1914.
Mary was relatives my grendfether, I loked her photos (like a young girl) she was nice, and grandparent told me - they (Mary's) once time were to visit in Vencsellő.
You can find any informations about our famili in the Roman Catholic Church, beacausein 1919 was a big fire, and the register of births were burnt.
But you know well, my familiy went from Germany to Vencsellő. The legend the origin of family name is the next: our fathers were bajor's (Bavarian), and the this cold folksy/dialect pajor/pajer befor a long time ago.
My gradparents told my in my cildhood - in the time is 1910-1914 in the village (Vencsellő) a lot of people went to America, but the contact braked down in the time of socializm.
My grandparents has only one child, my father Gyula.
I think, I can find some old photos, if you interest, I can try scanning them.
I hope, you can answer.
Marianna Pájer
